The Battle of Britain took place over the course of almost 4 months.
During this battle the German Luftwaffe (airforce) nightly bombed the British in what they called Blitzkrieg or lightning warfare. Historical Significance:This battle is significant to Canada because the involvement of the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) allowed the British RAF to combat the Germans and secure allied victory.
This battle also allowed Canada to be recognized for the RCAF's abilities, by playing its role in the aerial warfare. |
